no. everyone should have to be retested after they have a  accident charged to them regardless of age.

There should be mandatory annual testing once you hit 70 years old.  If you are pulled over for reckless driving in between your testing period once you hit that age, the police should have the authority to pull your license until you arrange a test to prove you are of sound mind and matter to be on the road.

I don't think you can go by age because everyone is different but I do think they should be tested very frequently past a certain age, and to help those whose license are revoked we should provide free bus passes or something so they can still get around to do their own shopping or have lunch with friends, just because they should not drive does not mean we should sentence them to be under house arrest, they need to continue with their lives as best they can.

Age based revocations would not be right.    Some folks are in perfect control and possession of all their faculties at 80,   others were senile at 50,   and some should never have been given a license to begin with.

Much better would be periodic retesting,   requiring medical doctors to notify the licensing departments of patients suffering certain conditions,   and greater review of driver license records to determine those who are incapable of  safety  practices,  irregardless of the age.       Age doesn't make a safe or unsafe driver on either end of the spectrum.

Elderly people can be a caution on the road, but even when they are it's hard to take 'em off the raod cause then it's like they loose their independence, and that's no fun...

I think people should get their license suspended, but not taken away premanently...

Unless they're just CRAZY on the road and keep getting into illegal trouble...

strictly due to age.  I think inability to properly drive

should be shown.  There are many people young and

old who know how to operate a vehicle, but have no

real clue about driving safely.

I believe that once you hit a certain age, you should be tested annually to make sure you are still capable of being a good driver.  Maybe once you hit 70 unless you have had medical problems, then earlier.  The test should include things like reaction time, awareness, and standard driving skills.

Most traffic problems are caused by the very young, rather than the very old.  Insurance companies charge more for males under age 27, therefore, the licensing age for everyone should be at least 27 (so as not to discriminate against women).
