  1. if they can serve in the military, there should be no question.

  2. YES!!!!

  3. Abso-freakin-lutely!  They are still American citizens, dammit!

Same goes for felons that have paid thier debt to society.

h**l, the certifiably insane don't lose their right to vote, so why should someone that is down on their luck lose theirs?

Frankly, I think folks that think like ol neo-con Vix up there should lose their citizenship for being patently and insanely UN-AMERICAN!

    Good point Grim!

We have ACTIVE DUTY soldiers that are on welfare!  What a freaking shame!  These ultra-conservative dittoheads don't even think about that, or just don't know.

Thank Reagan and Repubs for using the race wedge and brainwashing folks that most ppl on welfare are cheats and minorities.  NEITHER is true!

Some of you folks need to read the constitution!

  4. Absolutely they should.  It's your right being an American citizen to be able to vote - too bad that so few people take advantage of the opportunity that they have.

  5. Yes, they have every right was any citizen even if they cannot support themselves and society is supporting them, that dosent give society the right to take that right away from them, this is america land of the free.

  6. No.  Because the other taxpayers are supporting them.  They should be treated like a minor during the elections since they live off of the rest of society.

  7. People on welfare are still US citizens and they still pay taxes out of their own paychecks like the rest of us. That being said, if you lost your job today and needed real help, could you honestly say that you would Not apply for public assistance? What exactly do you think these programs are for? To help TAX PAYING Citizens. Once you start limiting one groups Right to Vote, all of us lose... so be careful what you wish for!

  8. Yes. Some issues can affect them. Not everyone on welfare is abusing the system. Sometimes people fall on hard times and just need it for a couple of months. When they find a job they get off of welfare. I am in favor of a time limit though. And I like the fact that they can't keep having babies in order to get more money! That's just taking advantage of us tax payers.

  9. NO. I think that voting is a right that should be reserved for the productive members of society. People who are given everything for nothing always hold out their hands when more freebies are offered. The ones who pay for them are the ones who are productive, and work. Why should they be able to vote for more things that they don't have to pay for??

  10. Yes,as long as you are a US citizen, you have the right to vote.I agree with the lady that says not all recipients are taking advantage. Quite a few are, we hear it all the time, but lets not punish the ones who have temporally fallen on hard times.
