Question:

Should people stop being so precious? ?

Just looking through daily newspapers, we seem to be bombarded by complaints and people/groups/representatives working themselves into a lather over virtually anything.

Usually, a comment taken out of context.

Honestly though, is this all justified or do you think people should stop being so precious about things and just get over it?

What is achieved by getting so worked up about what ANYone says?

  1. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who enjoy being argumentative and creating drama for no reason.

  2. It's political correctness run rampant. Being a victim is very much in style these days. People are rewarded with money (lawsuits) and fame (media attention) when they claim to be victims. Banning or restricting words- and thus giving those words more power- is what is fueling this. In Australian, Santa can't even laugh without it being somehow insulting to women.

  3. I would have to see the articles to come to an objective conclusion.

Subjectively, people are passionate about a lot of things. People should feel they have the right to voice a complaint.

But certainly when people get on a high horse about things they don't even affect them, then yeah- it's time to quit it.

  4. It's all news.
