Should people wait until they have enough money to have children?

Should you wait until you have enough money to start having children?

Should you go with the flow because you always live within your means and there would never be a right time if you did wait?

No one is ever ready for a child, even though they say they are.  It wouldn't hurt to have good little separate nest egg lying around. If you have a baby shower, ask for money or CD's to be placed in the account, or have shower that just gives you formula, food, and diapers.  Get only what you need, and what will last more than 3-4 months.

I feel that a well off family can offer a lot of financial security to themselves and their families but we grew up with 9 siblings , on one wage and we survived and have become loving parents too. Lets face it, money cannot buy love. Hope you understand this.......I can see Heathers point.

You'll never have "enough" money to have children.  Something will always come up.  If you live within your means, you should be okay to have kids.

Money isn’t the only consideration, but it’s definitely important.

My husband and I have been together a total of seven years. We waited to get married until we could afford a wedding without taking on debt.  We later bought a house and lived in it for several months to ensure that we could manage it still live under our means. Only after that did we start thinking about having children. We’re expecting our first baby next year, and I feel comfortable that we can deal with the added expense.

no, i think that u should have children when you are mentally ready and mature,

because even at 15 you may have all the money u need, but u mite not be emotionally ready,,,lol....

yes you should wait until you have enough money before you start to have children so you can cover yourself and your children for unforeseen mis-haps but what i you decide i wish you luck

That is a tough call.

Some have children when they have no money and struggle through. But even then waiting a tad and planning for the expence somewhat is a good idea.

Then there is the otherside. Some delay children until both are making good money and have some money saved. The women has a career so even if she has to leave it she can return to the work force later down the road if she wants. The man can have a bit more time to move up and make more money..... but that depends on the nature of his work.

Note that if you read about it more and more people are delaying having children.

Part might have to do with each having a job or moving up to another that has a great health plan before you have a child. Part has to do with age and goals. So it is hard to say.

Most will fall somewhere in the middle. But however it goes it is of course best to have some money stashed before having a child.

of course you should wait, it's competely selfish and quite cruel to bring a child into the world when you can't afford to.I came from a poor family and it defiitly effected me

My personal view is that you should have children when you feel the time is right and when you feel you are able to provide for that child and give it what it needs. Everyone's opinion will differ on this but for me I think a certain amount of planning needs to go into having children but that it doesn't need to be over planned for as I don't think anyone is every 100% prepared for the dramatic change a child brings to your life.

No, do what every other young thing does, get yourself pregnant as soon as you leave school, then get a flat on a sink estate and sit on your huge **** at the tax payers expense for the next 20 years or so.

Some people may never live comfortably. Its a difficult question to answer. But we was ok before I got pregnant bu some people work and have min wage jobs and have children and they can barley scrape the barrel. Its about happiness at the end of the day.

It would be good for people to wait until they had money...

However, this would mean a lot of people could never have a child.

Money isnt everything in life. My parents bought me and my little brother up well enough, dispite being quite poor. Sure we didnt have all the latest toys and clothes and things. But we were loved.

If we waited until we had enough money most of us would never have children.

It is bad enough to be poor, how much worse to be poor without gorgeous children to love!

(Though, to qualify what I have said, I do think it would be wise to have an income and a place to live before bringing them into the world!).

I waited and never had any kids.  One or two friends stayed on benefits and had several.

I guess I waited too long.  Will there ever be enough money?

i dont think people should have children at all, its a waste of time and money. and it just perpetuates this god awful planet.
