  1. We always need help to catch bigger drug dealers, the infromats help us catch & bring down the heavy drug leaders.

  2. Informants do help, but should prosecuted, and they will get a lesser sentence

  3. it doesn't make sense does it as it all propagates a sick society

  4. They are not immune from prosecution, but they do get treated more leniently if they appear in Court.

  5. You have got to set a thief to catch a Thief. To catch a Big one you may have to bait the Hook.

  6. No, even if they do help to catch bigger fish. They should perhaps do some community work, helping others, and made to do it, not just the police let them off with a slap on the wrist.

  7. No, but that is how they gather intelligence, it is not right but the only way they can find out is to be on the inside, police are not over fond of people who inform but they do like there info..

  8. common misconception. Informants do not have automatic immunity from anything.

  9. If a speeding ticket, then I could accept that.

Dealing in drugs, sorry, would not accept that.

There is, in my opinion, a very fine line with regard to genuine people wishing to give information , and those wishing to give information to get out of a crime.

I would hope the police can determine between the two, and take action as required.

  10. Yer i think they should.

  11. They are not immune. If they commit crime even to assist the Police, then they are also liable to prosecution (at least that is the case in the UK) Informants are NOT allowed or expected to commit crime.
