  1. No. It has always been stated,(and I've been reading about this subject since 1981),that Charles' reign would be a short one.Charles has always been pinpointed as being a king who would pave the way for his son,William, starting some changes that William would continue with when his time comes.

The Monarchal succession is not something to be treated lightly.Charles is next in line to the throne and he takes his royal duties seriously. He is not going to step aside;that is not how things are done.

  2. No, Parliament should let the people vote if monarchy should continue in the UK.

  3. That would be the honorable and respectable thing to do, therefore don't expect it to happen.

  4. Prince William's not even good-looking anymore. He's starting to look like a horse like all British royals, and he's got a huge bald spot. Prince Charles should renounce the throne in favor of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

  5. no that is not right he next in throne and all his life his destiny is to be the next king  beside william needs to enjoy his life as long as possible with out the extra pressure

  6. No, why should he give up his chance that he's been brought up for all his life?  Just because William's considered good-looking and Charles isn't?

  7. No. The whole point of monarchy is that it's not a beauty contest; the next person in line gets the job, regardless. If it gets to the point  where the nation is saying "Oooh, we like him, he's cute, but we're not so sure about him", then you might as well abandon the monarchy and become a republic. Then of course you run the risk of getting someone like Dubya or Tony Blair as your head of state, so you can see Britain would be far better off sticking with Prince Charles for King.

  8. no, why the h**l should he ??.

as they have no power what difference would it make

  9. No. It is his right to be King. Just because the public prefer William is no reason for the man not to be allowed the job he has waited his whole life for. I am not particularly fond of Prince Charles but think he deserves the top job, when it eventually becomes vacant.

  10. Yes, it would make the world a brighter place.

  11. Charles is very high risk but David Starkie did suggest that he would be a good thing for the monarchy because he is different from HM. He is opinionated, well read, sincere, but may manage to upset absolutly everyone.

William we all quite like and it would allow Harry to get on with being Harry. Unfortunately, the strength in the monarchy is the fact that they are not chosen,  they are selected by a system of birth, order of birth an d direct descendence. Abdication had to be for a reason, e.g. you marry a divorcee----that is it!!! Charles has!!  But he would not do this, because he stubbornly wants to be King.

Looks like we are stuck with the potential of Charles Rex.

  12. No, I don't believe so. Charles has been heir to the throne for 56 years, why shouldn't he have a chance?

  13. No. Prince William of Wales is designated to be the future King of the United Kingdom, therefore, he will get his turn to wear the Crown. As for Prince Charles, he has been preparing for the role as "King" for his entire life, I think it is unfair to force him to be exempted from the line of succession in favour of Prince William.

Even if Prince Charles succeeds the Queen, his reign will be extremely short as many have predicted. If he ascends to his mother's throne after 18 September 2013, the Prince, who turned 59 in November 2007, would become the oldest successor to do so.

Note: Prince Charles cannot "renounce the throne" since he has not ascended the throne yet. He could "renounce his place in the line of succession" as heir to the British crown, but I highly doubt he will.
