  1. They do...  Graf won gold in '88...

  2. yes, they let pro-basketball players play, so why not.

  3. They should if you want Tennis to be a part of the olympics at all.  How many people do you think would want to see players who aren't even on the tour?  I don't see how professional tennis players are any worse than professionals playing soccer, hockey and basketball.

  4. Yes. especially if they're black sisters on steroids. Because they might bring some interest to a very, very boring pastime.

  5. yes. they do what they want

  6. If they want to why not.

They work at there sport like anyone else and the olympics are to pick the best so if they can pass the tests and do the work to get there sure.

But the real question is would they have time for all that?

  7. No!  Professional athletes that get paid millions in salaries and prize money should not be able to compete in the Olympics.

I think the Olympics should be for the amateur athletes who toil for years in obscurity for the chance to represent their nations.

  8. Yea, Tennis is a sport and it is gaining popularity i think people enjoy watching tennis and it gives new players the chance to shine for their country.

  9. Don'y pro footballers play in the Olympics, or maybe i have it wrong. if they do then why not pro tennis players.

  10. Yes. Why shouldn't they??? the olympics is about finding out who is the best in the world at something... so why would a pro be excluded from this? If they are the best, they are the best.

  11. They shouldnt want to take part.

Olympics is a group of people who didnt make it pro.

  12. Yes.

Any participant of any sport should be able to compete in the Olympics.

There is too vague a line between professional and amateur sports today. That distinction cannot be made fairly anymore.

Besides, isn't it great when true amateur athletes beat the "pros" in Olympic competition.

  13. This is going to sound like an ethnocentric thing to say, but it really depends on where the Olympics are being held.  When the games are being held in a place like China, everyone should boycott them.  It's a human rights issue.

When they're being held in a free country, that has good human rights records (like London) then the best of the sport should compete.  Wouldn't it send a great message to the world if all of the tennis players united and agreed to skip the Olympics this year?  I personally would love to see that.

  14. other athletes like in swimming are considered pros in what they do so why shouldnt the pros in other sports ie  basketball and tennis be aloud to play in their sports.

  15. Yes of  course its for the their country,s prestige just like playing in Davis Cup. Besides the ATP awards ranking points to those who participate and fared well
