Should products of abortions be used for stem cell research?

I am participating in a debate and am unable to find much information on the two topics together.

I find negative information on abortions and a little bit of negative information on stem cell research, but am having difficulty finding information that coincides.

  1. I agree with midnight.

ALSO - The "products of abortions" are humans. They should be treated with respect.

  2. If the experimentation and research on a aborted fetas could find the cure for cancer twenty years earlier.Look  at the millions of people you would have saved from dieing from cancer.

  3. I think that the right thing to do is make these tiny lives that no one wanted worth something.

However, its not really that people dont think we should use the embryos.  The problem is that people are afraid that eventually (although it is probably already happening) women will be paid to have abortions for the embryo research.  Or that women will be paid to harvest their eggs for the embryo research.  A black market for embryos.  People in nursing homes who are still of child bearing age being impregnated and aborted without their consent or knowledge.  Women being kidnapped and having their fetus aborted without consent.

But in the end, embryonic stem cells have been proven to be unstable.  I dont really see the point in continuing the debate.  There are many other sources of stem cells that do not involve killing anything that have been proven useful, and to work.

  4. As crude as it sounds, I don't see why the aborted fetus can't go to helping cure the living.

  5. Sure they can.

And dead people can also be processed to make sausages. After all there is no logical reason so much protein is allowed to go to waste...
