  1. For high school students, YES. It's the least they can do in return for us having to be packed like sardines onto the trains and trams.


  2. i think it should be free for high school students so we have more money to spend on other more important things :)

  3. There is a good argument for "Free" transport.

    If it was free to use, more people would probably use it, and cut down on the use of petrol in cars.

    This would have positive benefits for the country/state/world.

    Not being one that would use public transport though, I am of the "User Pays" supporters :)

  6. "There's no such thing as a free lunch" is something of a cliche, but it's absolutely true. Public transport can never be "free". The taxpayers, who already have a huge enough burden, would have to pay for it. Governments have no money of their own - it must ALL come from taxpayers, ALWAYS!! If PT was "free", taxes would have to rise - surely it's far better to have a user pays system which is much, much fairer to everyone.
