  1. they did it in the 90s and it worked so well they brought refueling back pretty darn quick,

  2. I would argue that instead of banning refueling....Make it mandatory that each car must pit-in a minimum of 4 times during a race....with a mandatory change of tires each time.

Whether or not they want to refuel during that time is up to them....

  3. When there's was no refueling the races were not really much more exciting, it's been a problem for F1 for some time now.

What spoils things is the technology.

Teams can monitor every aspect of the car, and plan every little detail ahead.

They manage to minimize uncertainty with use of modern technology to the point where little can happen to surprise and excite.

Drivers don't set their car's up any more like they used to, they just drive around picking up data.

Mechanics go over the data overnight, analyze everything and come up with the best possible solution, choose tire compound for qualifying and race, wing angles, race strategy, the lot.

Modern F1 without refueling won't look anything like it did in the past so personally I'm not too excited about the idea.

If anything, different fuel levels for cars add a little bit of spice, not much, just a bit of complexity.

  4. Absolutely!

It would not only be a great leveler, but would be fun to see all drivers knowing what their competitors are doing. No surprise 'splash and dashes'.

All this refueling, saving any 'risky' overtaking and instead waiting for your opponents pit stops and second guessing can be incredibly tedious when all you want to see is competitive and combative RACING.

    Here's hoping. . .

  5. Yes, absolutely.

Make the drivers cope with a hugely varied fuel load during the race, that would provide an extra dimension which has been missing since the reintroduction of refuelling. It would make teams compromise as to whether the car should be set up to be quick on full tanks, on half-empty tanks or on nearly empty tanks, and make different drivers more competitive at different stages of the race.

They used to get by with 195 litre tanks and no refuelling at the end of the turbo era, so it's perfectly possible.

  6. How then would you suggest they get through to the end of the race? Not only do they need fuel to finish but they also need to change their tyres, theres no other way around it.
