Should religion be taken into account for a jury?

Members of various religions have shown they think atheists or other religions are less trustworthy or just lesser human beings. There have been various cases where a lawyer has brought up religion or lack off to sway the jury.

  1. Never ever, religion should never be taken into consideration in a court of law. Laws are not created around religion in any democratic society. We all know what happens when you get into that territory.


  2. If the case involves some aspect of religion, then attorneys certainly have the right, if not the obligation, to question witnesses in this area and also potential jurors in voir dire or jury selection.  For example, a hate crime or church or synagogue vandalism.

    And the Judge determines and instructs the jury what may and may not be considered in jury deliberations.  

  3. i think it should. they take everything else into account when building a jury so why not religion.

  4. DONT WE WISH  But courts are govererned by goverment and all goverments are run/goveren by religion so all cases are goverened by thr prnamemt religion off the land. bad luck for atheists

  5. The US Supreme Court says no, just like race, s*x and age.
