  1. seems you have had a bad experience

speaking as a resturant manager i certainly wouldn't display that sort of thing but would work hard to avoid getting a bad report.

These reports can also be misleading to the untrained eye!

However if an member of the public asked to see one i dont see any reason to say no if you have nothing to hide

You should also remember that yes they may have had a bad report but they may also have spent thousands on retraing and sorting the problems to bring it up to standard

Should they still ahve to show it?

  2. Yes they should have to display their last inspection then you would know wether or not to eat there.or take your chances.

  3. YES and they should be better rated..in the state i live, you can get in the 90s and still be dirty..think they need to be more strict

  4. If you had the chance to visit some of the kitchens, you WOULD NOT ask that question.   Do tell me when its time to laugh!

  5. I think they should have the right to know and make an informed choice on whether or not they would want to eat in a restaurant that had special little friends living in it's kitchens adding their own special ingredients to the menu.

  6. Think they do have to have a certificate on the wall, but as rats aren't always available it may have to be cockroaches instead sorry.

  7. Yes, I think that would be a good idea. Although having said that I think a few restaurants would see a drop in custom, but it would be there own faults

  8. Restaurant you mean dodgy diner?

  9. Sounds like a good idea, I suppose there are always problems but you put your trust and cash into restaurants so why not

  10. Yes, that's a very good idea. Quite difficult to monitor though - how are the public to know that its the latest report?

  11. I think most places are required to have that information on hand to be provided if asked. I know some places, like LA are required to post their grade in a highly visible place. I'm not sure how it is for where you live but most places are supposed to freely supply this information.

  12. It is usually publicised in the local newspaper, but I think you are right - if they have had a serious violation on their last EHO visit it should be visible.

Obviously, no proprieter is going to display it in flashing lights, so perhaps a public, government run website where you can check would be a good idea? Then the outlet cannot avoid it, or tuck the issue away in a back corner.

  13. Yes

  14. While I don't think they should neccessarily have to display signage, I think this information should be available on request, so that discerning diners can make an educated decision.

I don't know the current laws in any country regarding this, so this is just my own opinion on how it should work. It would be good if displaying it became the norm in restaurants, so then if a health inspection sign was MISSING, your suspicions would be aroused.

  15. IN 'NZ' THEY have a rating system and the higher the rating the better the place.

  16. yes, in Los Angeles they gave school grades (A+best to C worst) and the restaurants had to display the grade in the window.

  17. yes.

the public has a right to know.

wholesome , properly processed food ,

is a number one responsibility to the public.

  18. We already have this great system in Toronto.  It's called DineSafe.

    Check it out:

    Hope that helps!

  19. Yes that would be a good idea. Then at least you would know you were eating in a rat free zone.
