I think so. But what do you people have to say? Give good examples of why or why not. Courts cases, etc.

  1. only if necessary to the child's well-being

  2. Yes. It could prevent someone from killing another student or students.

  3. Contrary to popular beliefs children do have constitutional rights, anyone that says other wise is thinking of Miranda Rights which you do not get until you are 18.

Now onto the topic, that is a double edged sword, on the plus side it would make schools a lot safer for everyone. It may prevent future acts of violence from happening also.

On the downside, it is an invasion of privacy.

I believe the pro's, outweigh the cons however, and it is a good tool for schools to use to create a safer haven of education. Besides, if there is nothing you don't want your teacher/principal finding you had no reason bringing it into school.

  4. children have no constitutional rights. so yes they can and should.

  5. Yes,the management always reserves the right to search bags, whether its a school or store.

They are not law enforcement so there is no need for probable cause.

  6. no, if the teachers and pricipal want respect they must treat students with respect and that means not invading the students' privacy w/o having probable cause.

  7. Is that guy kidding?  Kids have no Constitutional rights?  Where are we?  communist China?  No, no one should search anything without probable cause!  Innocent until proven guilty!

  8. YES - what could a kid possible have in a locker, bag, etc that they wouldn't want found!?#?!??  Whatever it is, I don't want my kid near it!

  9. Yes. As much as it would suck for the kids, their reason why they don't like it completely outweighs the safety of everyone there. (like if a kid brings a knife, gun, drugs, etc)
