Should science and technology be used to protect children from bullies?

Technological gadgets could be used to stop bullying. A bully will not, for instance, mess with a person who has a gun and is willing to use it. However, a gun is too deadly. What if science were to invent some other tool that kids could use against bullies, something that is not deadly yet just as effective of a deterrent, and laws were changed to allow or even require that ever child have one of these?

Should this be done? Why or why not?

No, you should not make people so weak and dependent on technology.

True strength comes from within and sometimes it can only be developed by surviving difficulties and hardship in life.

Well, what if the bully has one? The bully may use it on a child. I believe we should just make an alarm in which a robotic camera that sense bullying rings a bell and marks the bully with a special number. If caught, the bully is to be suspended for 10 days.

This would place restrictions on society, and hope not small jokes are considered bullying.

Umm I could easily see bullies ganging up on a kid and using technology against an individual.
