Question:

Should she get her gallbladder removed?

My friend’s mom has colitis. Recently her dr found out that her gall bladder was only working at like 15%. But I don't think she is having problems with it (i.e., pain, cramps, and stones). They want to remove it, but I don't understand why???? If she is not having problems why remove it??? The risks of the removal seem far greater than just leaving it.

  1. If the gallbladder is not working correctly, it could become diseased. This happened to a friend of mine. She then got over 100 gallstones and had to had it removed (emergency surgery)....

I also had mine out. Apparently you don't need them! It was a very simple surgery and could cause her pain in the future. You don't want any dead organs just sitting in your body.. Yikes!
