wal mart and target have the best makeup for younger girls and older girls.

There are many different types of make-up, you just have to pick something age appropriate.  For a 12-year-old, lip gloss is great.  For something special, you could use a little bit of shimmer powder.  I would definitley say no to heavy eye make-up, perhaps just a tiny bit of masacre if you're dressing up.  Good brands are Bonnebell, Wet N' Wild, and NYC color.  All of these can be purchased at drug stores.

no makeup at 12.... that is way to young to be thinking about that stuff. it makes children think they are grown then they start acting grown.... not a good look for a tween. clear lipgloss-even a TINGE of pink is ok.  but foundation? mascara? eyeliner? no. thats how people end up with bad skin later.  im 19 and i JUST started worrying about makeup. and i only wear (not everyday) mascara and lipgloss- MAYBE eyeshadow on a RANDOM day. i only started because im going into my 3rd yr at college and people believe im only 15-16. butanyways  a 12 yr old should not worry about this stuff... i'll say 14 is appropriate to start experimenting with color...

She's 12? Well, if she's going to use eyeliner, please tell her not to do what most 12 year old girls do: black eyeliner. It looks really harsh, and it would looks so much better if they'd use a brown or something more natural.

Lip-gloss would not be awkward. Lip gloss is fun, without being too much. It's just a nice little tweak. You know, a littl shimmer, a little shine or a little colour. It's perfect for girl who want to start using a little bit of make-up.

Just remind her to make sure that people see her, and not her make-up. You don't want someone's first thought ot be, when they look at her :"Wow. Look at her make-up. It so... bright." or whatever. Thankfully I finally understand the phrase less is more. And it's so true.

ok well, when I was like 9 I started wearing bits of makeup, like my mom started me off w/smackers lip glosses. and that was about it and nail polish (wet and wild) and then as I got older I started getting wetnwild eye shadow, and I kinda started adding on to my collection myself.

but 12 is too young to wear eyeliner,

maybe some lipgloss and thats it....

and then around 13 14 she could start wearing mascarra and blush also.

12, to my idea, is just cutting it. if you are lokking for simple makeup( a small amount) i would try tinted moisturizer where needed, maybe lipgloss, and maybe one coat of mascara. you can buy this at any drugstore or places like walmart. i am almost 14 and use everything i suggested to you and eyeshadow so. i hope i helped :)

12 is a little young...lipgloss and mascara is okay for that age i think, maybe concealer if you have blemishes. brands...anything you find at a drugstore will be inexpensive and will work for you. loreal, covergirl, almay, revlon, etc. just go to a dugstore and check out what they have there. or you could look at target they have a bigger selection but still inexpensive.

Well I'm 14 and I just started 2 wear makeup. I think 12 is too young. But I think u should just b a kid! Dnt be sum1 u aren't! I understand wearing makeup is new and fun cause u feel older. But wait atleast a year or two! U should never ever have 2 put on makeup 2 feel pretty!
