  1. Sam's Club & Walmart are all about the profit.  They don't care about setting better examples to society.  Do you really think they cared about all the local stores in all the communities that they put out of business?  Same thing applies to their view on selling radar detectors.

  2. Have you ever been distracted for a moment, then noticed that you had inadvertently gone over the speed limit? Should you have gotten a speeding ticket for that momentary lapse? Have you ever had to pass a vehicle and during the pass you exceeded the speed limit? Should you have gotten a speeding ticket after making the pass?

My point is: Sometimes we may inadvertently speed, or we may need to exceed the speed limit to pass a slow moving vehicle in our lane, or we may need to speed up momentarily to make an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision with another driver. A radar detector can let you know when to pay more attention to your speed! On the highway, I usually stay around 4 to 5 MPH above the speed limit (and I get passed by many other vehicles.) I want to know when I am approaching a speed trap so that I know to check my speed. I'm not interested in racing, or in going as fast as possible to my destination.

I am more interested in overall safety, and a radar detector helps keep me aware of my speed, and therefore makes me a safer driver overall. Is this a bad example that should be eliminated? If so, then perhaps all vehicles should have a limiter that only allows the vehicle to go no faster than 55 MPH? I don't think so, and most people will agree with me.

  3. depends on where you live.....it is only illegal to operate one in Virginia and Washington D.C. so since it is legal to have then I see no reason to sell them....thats like saying that since driving under the influence is illegal then no one should sell alcohol....the better example is the law itself and selling or not selling a particular product is not indicative of a sellers condoning or not condoning the use or misuse of the product(s)
