  1. Oh yes. And hula-hooping.

  2. Don't they already have an Olympic skipping event?  I mean, that's pretty much what the hurdles are, isn't it?

Run, run, SKIP!  Run, run, SKIP!  Run, run, SKIP!

Seriously, I think after they decided to include ping-pong and walking-- WALKING!!!-- as Olympic events, all bets were pretty much off.

No offense to you if you've won a gold medal in walking, but really... is it that big of a deal that you won in a race where you weren't actually allowed to race?

"My God, all the other runners finished ahead of her!"

"Yes, but she did finish ahead of all the other people who didn't break into a run, so she beat all of them."

"That's brilliant!  All we have to do is get them to make that an event next time, and we'll be showered in gold!  Quick, call everyone you know, and tell them to meet down at the mall on Tuesday morning during senior hour!"

So yeah, I really don't see why they can't have a skipping event at this point.  There's a whole field of skipping activities out there to tap.

"Welcome back to the finals of the women's 4 x 100 meter hopscotch relay...."

    I'd tune in for that.

  3. No, because skipping doesn't sound anything like a sport.
