ECW is broadcasted live, but Smackdown is taped. I went to as how once and I was talking to my pal at the same time and ECW what was happening there was happening on her TV, so it is live. Raw is a few minutes behind, but still considered live, Smackdown is usually shown 3 days later.

I know their rumors that Smackdown may be going live very soon (by the end of this year)

As for ECW, It will raise there ratings a little bit.

Yes because it would improve their ratings. People look at the spoilers and ruin the show.
