  1. Sociologists study the problem.  The very word, sociologist means one who studies social interaction.

Activists, on the other hand, are the ones who work to solve it. Are you an activist?  Perhaps it is you who should lend a hand.

Only we as a people and as a culture can help.  Everybody has to lend a hand and do his/her part.

    Siggy

  2. If you study sociology you need to to something related whit resolve social injustice, corruption, poverty, etc that you are studding. There are organizations, the ONG, in where you can participate having a job position. Also there are others organizations that take care of addiction problems which are a social sickness.

  3. Difficult question to answer. Modern discipline of sociology demands us to be objective. But with so much injustice and crying need for social activism it is difficult to be detached. However, if everyone tries to do everything nothing will get done. We need sociologists to do a fair, rigourous and possible neutral analysis of social phenomena. Then other social agencies can use than analysis to effectively carry out their activism.

  4. i would say not (unless its a personal thing seperate from sociology)

as sociologists would be seen as political and might lose respect for their observations, research etc etc...
