This, of course, falls within the major constitutional law issue category of "free speech":  the 1st amendment.  Many many cases have addressed similar questions.  While good sense and taste may agree on censorship, the need in a "free" society for no prior restraints on free speech unless otherwise decided is still the trend, i think.

And those cases which are "otherwise decided" are relatively few.  This is a truly fascinating area which you might wish to research.   Google "prior restraint" to get started. :))
