I am sorry if you are on about the war in Vietnam , the USA was not attacked or in any direct threat - it was not the battle of Britain or anything akin to an  occupation  - it just happens that the USA did not agree with North Vietnam polices . Having said that I really doubt the USA will ever feel the threat of an occupation or an air assault

ummm, sorry to coorect you but the local tax dollars actually paid for the desk. The Military insures the freedom to choose to use the desk.
