  1. they should specify what type of degree.  it's ok to say associates degree

  2. as long as they got a degree of some sort yea they graduated

  3. Yes.. and I do..=)

  4. If they received a degree from a college-- whether 2 year or 4-- they are a college graduate. The years don't matter, just the successful completion.

A graduate degree is a different thing altogether-- that person already has a bachelor's and is going for a higher degree.

  5. If they received a degree and attended their own commencement ceremony they ARE a graduate.

  6. If you graduated college you are a college graduate. A 2 year college is still college.

  7. Oh for sure. Whether its a 2 year degree or a 4 year degree, you still completed the work. I know for a fact that a degree as a BSN in the state of Ohio, some hospitals still pay the 2 year degree nurses the same as a 4 year degree nurse.

  8. Absolutely!  Community colleges are a valuable asset to every community, and can provide a much more affordable education, as well as job training for those who might not be able to afford a university education.  Many certificate programs, such as Automotive Technology and Network Technician, can also be offered with additional general education or business-based courses to provide an Associate in Applied Science Degree.  These graduates are, in my opinion, much more capable of handling life "in the real world" than those Harvard graduates who pay through the nose for a bunch of book learning.

As a graduate of a 4 year private college, I returned to my community college for some personal enrichment classes expecting that I would pass without making an effort...after all I have a B.A.... Let me tell you that these courses were as difficult, and as informative as the classes I took at that snobbish "prestigious" college, and never again did I discount the value of a community college.  In fact, I was so impressed that today I proudly overwork in an underpaid, but needed position in that very community college.

  9. I suppose, but it's not exactly what most people would perceive to be a college graduate. Usually a 4 year degree is the standard-bearer college degree. I think people with Associate's degrees usually say, "I have an Associate's degree" rather than saying they are a college graduate.

  10. sure why not they earned it
