  1. If by school you mean age 11 - 18 secondary school, then no, of course not! Everyone needs exercise and it actually helps concentration, mood and overall well being. If someone isn't very academic, then they can excel at sport and that will boost their self-esteem. Obviously there should be a limit on how much sport can be played and maybe it could increase if their grades improve.

If you're talking about college or university, then I can't really say. Surely everyone should be allowed to do SOME sport though?

  2. i think so. sports is a privilage. if you have bad grades, you need to focus on school work, not sports.

  3. Yes the students in Michigan must have a 2.0 or a C average in order to play sports. I think the grade point average should be a 3.0 or a B average. An education is much more important than sports.

  4. Yes they should. In school, sports are a privilege. Schools don't have to have sports, they could just as well give every student gym class. In my school, if you take a sport you don't have to do gym, but you must obtain a B average to stay in sports. But my school is also a very strict, no-nonsense private school.

  5. Yes, they should, other students look up to those in sports and they should be a good example to others. Other students may feel the way to do good in this world is through sports, when in reality very few people make it in the sports world. A good education is key to having a good later life.

  6. yes

  7. yea. well my school, students require 2.0. which is.. okay. but anything below that, then athletes really need to focus on school work and not just sports. if they plan to play in college... then they better get the grades to get to college.

  8. yes because it forces students to actually care about school if that means threatening to take away the thing they enjoy then that is what it takes otherwise students would be more likely to flunk out or continually go to summer school

  9. Ya definatly b/c it makes them well rounded, smarter which can help with sports. And also when they apply to colleges they won't have to just rely on sports. Also the people will know if they really want to play they have to excel in acedemics which will make them want to play in sports more or less

    Good luck on your debate!
