For some reason, we'll see all the liberals/dems saying "No!" and the Conservative/Republicans saying "YES!"

  1. Yes/Moderate

  2. Yes Republican.

  3. I'm a true Republican: fiscal conservative/social libertarian.

Regardless of your answer, the real answer is it is ineffective.  Students do not pay attention, parrot or sing-song the words and, I guarantee, the average student could not possibly pass a simple test on the content of the pledge.

Any attempt to indoctrinate students, even for good things like patriotism, falls on deaf ears. (Ever watch JayWalking on the Jay Leno Tonight show?  Our college student are functional illiterates.)

  4. Yes - Conservative

  5. I am more concerned about the lack of history education in the schools.  Having kids say the pledge of allegiance like a pack of zombies doesn't teach them anything.   How about teaching them more about the history of the United States?    I withdrew my daughter from public schools when I realized that she wasn't learning anything that was important for  her to know, especially history.   I think we should worry more about the curriculum than we do.  The pledge of allegiance is supposed to mean something, but it doesn't if kids don't learn the historical significance of the flag.   So, I am a liberal saying NO.   They should be given the option, after learning more about it.

  6. no

  7. No. Our patriotism shouldn't be forced. I'm an Independent.

  8. yes, and if the under GOD comment offends anyone,  leave it out. ind, rep.

  9. Yes I think they should...

    Neither - Non Partisan

  10. I would think It depends on who they are pledging allegiance to.

I for one would not pledge allegiance to the queen or UK gov. - I am a Nationalist
