Husband and I moved into an apartment at the time without a pet. When we bought a small dog we noticed a "no pets" sign outside our apartment building. So we felt bad and honestly told the landlord we were not aware of it. So she moved us into another building where we could have our dog. A week later we got a bill for $100 for the carpet cleaning of old apartment and another $100 for just transfering us. We were not told we would have to pay these expenses before she moved us.

  1. Really that should be something in your lease agreement or house rules. Read your agreement and if it's not in there then you need to check with the office to see if they made changes in there lease or house rules. I'm a property manager and something like that has to be in your lease and we also have to explain your lease and house rules to you at the time of move in. Everything might not be explain to you so that's why you need to read the lease before you sign it.
