Question:

Should the All Blacks only be allowed to use New Zealand players?

Wouldn't it be fairer on everyone (not least the various Island States) if only Kiwis played for ABs and the 'ringers' play for their own country?

I realise money is a driving factor but it is a shame!

Or if inevitable that they choose to play outside of their native Islands, how about 15 of them claiming a Scottish great great grandmother?

  1. Yawn, back to your castle your highness.

This is the sort of ignorant question we have learnt to expect from the UK. Come spend some time in NZ and then you would know why.

  2. First of all justify what you deem as New Zealand players.

Auckland for the last 40 years or so has got the highest concentration of Polynesians in the World.  So if people from Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia or any where in the South Pacific want to call New Zealand Home then so be it.  Children are born here and have gone to school in New Zealand so naturally if they excel at sport or the arts or anything.  Then you would assume they would want to represent the country they are familiar with.

Its not about claiming minute ancestry its about claiming a New Zealand passport.  Therein lies the question.  Who are these ringers, its just the same old bullshit coming from the home nations yet when England does it in rugby is different.  Look carefully at he two wingers who are sporting a very dark tan are they English and how come no one is questioning whether they are ringers.  Funny that.

Lets try for something called consistentcy and acually see for yourself the bigger picture instead of looking and finding excuses.  What would you consider to be a Kiwi.

  3. of course we use NZ players, what sort of c**p are you on about 'dikhead of endiburgh'?Obviously you know nothing about NZ or the culture, how many black fellas play for england? if they are a different colour they shouldnt be playing,is that what you are saying scottsman?

Asians dnt play much rugby in NZ because they are too small and too weak and thats the fact jack!!They play ping pong or soccer.Unlike you people ,we pick on skill not on color or race and everyone has the chance to compete.Thats why you guys are weak in rugby cause you choose on color, you are a dikhead.Sivivatu was born in fiji and has been here for over ten yrs,he is the only allblack not born here in NZ

  4. No, the majority of players that aren't born in New Zealand that play for them spent most of their life there. In fact, in a study a couple of years ago, it turned out that New Zealand had the highest number of players playing for other countries. Why would you ask a Samoan born player who maybe spent all of his life in New Zealand to play for a country where he might not have even been in since his birth?

  5. Thats silly cos tons of players come from diff countries to the one the play for in lots of sports. Football, rugby, even tennis!

For the guy who said why arent there any asians in the ABs... did you ever think maybe its because they suck at rugby?

Jesus christ we don't want some kind of asian quota like SA had to for dark pple! Imagine that!

  6. Some touchy people around here ay! I reckon it's a fair question, and if, as you guys say NZ is SO multicultral why aren't there any Asians in the AB's?

I think you'll find the answer to the question lies in the fact that they are called The All Blacks and as such are a franchise  (chill...just stirring).

'New Zealand' is left out of the equation until you get to New Zealand Maori.  There's no NZ Asians, and they have a bigger demographic here in NZ.

There's plenty of Kiwis playing for Japan...something to do with J Kirwen I think

I do find it a bit strange that one of the guys for the Blues (can't remember his name) can't play for the AB's because he played 1 game for Samoa when he was 19 or something...bit odd.

  7. New Zealand is a wide multi cultural range as far as its people. We have many of the "Island" people live here since they were very young and even born here so why should they not aspire to  play for the best team in world rugby. The All Blacks

  8. You are right, it is all about the mighty dollar. Island players do not have pride in the 'Black' jersey, they are as mercenaries. NZRFU is often accused of stealing the best of the Island players, but they come of their own free-will. One can only stack so many taros in the back shed.

  9. Yes of course - and England should immediately drop Topsy Oja, Rio Ferdinand, Nasser Hussein, Ashley Cole, et al from their national teams (sorry, no Scotland player registers on the world radar so I can't mention any of them).

What ignorant dribble this is. The biggest Polynesian city in the world is Auckland, New Zealand - yet somehow you assume polynesians come from the islands. Strange as it may seem a few 'Tongans', 'Samoans', 'Fijians', and even 'Indians' and 'Asians' have actually been born in this country.

As other answers indicate, most (if not all) the people you complain about were born in N.Z. or were brought here by their parents when they were very young.

  10. May I suggest you keep your nose out of things you have no clue on and does not concern you.

  11. we do use kiwis.... we consider everyone who comes here to be kiwi...

are you trying to say that Americans and the brittish should stop using the Africans for the olympics because thye are not American or brittish...

should england stop using other country players for their clubs for soccer?....

  12. New Zealand itself is concerned as a multi-cutral country. so the pacific islanders descendents who has a NZ citizenship is able to play for the all blacks... they could play for their country of their ancestry, but it is their choice and most of the pacific descendents who is playing for the all blacks have lived in New Zealand for most of their lives.  just cuz they prefer New Zealand, doesnt mean they are forced to play in New Zealand. besides, if they really want the money, they would have gone to the Europe.

so i suggest you can shut the **** up about the topic cuz you dont know **** about it.
