Should the CFL return to Ottawa? If so, who should be the 10th franchise to come in with them?

The Rough Riders and Renegades have both failed due to mismanagement...funny enough both times by the same ownership hand. What would be a good reason to return to Ottawa? Also, assuming the CFL is smart this time and doesn't continue with the silly unbalanced scheduling, where would you put the other expansion franchise to even the numbers at 10 teams?

Ottawa needs a team, keeps my Bombers in the west where they belong.  The trick is of course, ownership.  If right ownership is found and a solid management team put in place, I believe it would work.  Winning is a great cure all for attendance.  Expansion need not be to make an even ten, what's wrong with 11.  the Maritimes would work as would Saskatoon.  What a rivalry that would be, Regina vs. Saskatoon.

Sure Ottawa deserves a CFL team, hopefully the next time the CFL won't allow some dumbass little f-a-g and his daddy run the team, and then they ran back to the US and left  the City with millions in debt.  what a bunch of losers they were.  Quebec could use another team for sure.

Ottawa needs a team as well as either another Quebec city or Halifax.  Its been proven in Montreal  that 20000 per game can make you successful.

I would try Halifax in the East, since it would give Atlantic Canada

a taste of a professional franchise. I'm guessing CFL football

would be big there, but Halifax isn't exactly a safe city in terms of

crime. It can be pretty violent there. Ottawa has the NHL Senators, or should I say Kanata. They have two failed attempts

in that city already with regards to the CFL. Why should they get a third chance? They are bad as Los Angeles is in the NFL. I

don't think the NFL should go back there, because of the insufficient support they got in terms of refurbishing or building stadiums (L.A. Memorial Coliseum is a relic) and fans. I'm all

for the CFL going back to a 10 team league to balance the schedule, since Winnipeg is really a Western Canadian city. I'm

not so sure if I would want to give Ottawa another go though.

Quebec City is another option, give the success of the university

programs (Laval, Montreal, Concordia) in Quebec. I would like

to see Victoria also get a franchise at some point. My ideal CFL

would have six teams in the West and six in the East.

This is my dream CFL in terms of number of teams and location:

West: BC(Vancouver), Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatchewan (Regina), Victoria, Winnipeg

East: Halifax, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto

The round brackets indicate the names of teams with provincial

names where they would be located. Saskatoon might work also

for Saskatchewan, providing they build a CFL calibre stadium,

and it is more centrally located in the province than Regina is.

You said it youself, the Renegades and Rough Riders have both failed due to mismanagement.  It was through no fault of the Ottawa fans, they put up with a lot over the years and supported the team as best as they could.  The decline in this year's tv ratings is a direct result of "suspending" the Renegades (Ottawa-Gatineau is the 4th biggest tv market).  The tv contract is up soon, and TSN isn't going to pay as much as last time with the numbers in decline.
