Should the Champions League Trophy be held in Pakistan?

since the ICC said the security arrangements are the best they have seen and have the tick from private investigators why should not be held. If you see Pics of the National Stadium there are Abrahams tanks and Armored Personal Carriers in the Entrances and even a helipad with a chinook. Even the PAkistani SAS are guarding the venues, You cannot get 200 meters from the stadium without getting checked and the PCB has said that if transportation is a problem then helicopters are available.

Also the Asian Cup was held with out a glitch and i know people will say the terrorists like asians, i say what about India. THe Paks hate them and they are in most risk followed by the POMS

Look If the ICC said it is fine then that is fine. Also remember that the Aus VS Pom Continued even after the london bombing, the match was not even delayed

What I find amusing is how this section has made it their purpose to exist by complaining about the Aussies. And yet, Australia pulls out of a tournament and you still have a go at them. So, you hate them when they do show up to play, and hate them more for not showing up. What part of that makes sense?

Yes, I am glad you pointed out Butto. This raises the point that the protection that offered to players is of presidential level. Well, thank you, we have seen what such protection can offer.

Dear Beachboy,

Latest news its been postponed to 2009. Pakistanis and Indians and Sri Lankans get along very well abroad. So in essence there are no fundamental problems. Of course, you hear raving politicians, but then thats their bread and butter isnt it (i.e., to incite hatred and win votes).

NO WAY PAKISTAN DOES NOT DESERVE to hold such a prestigous trophy.It should be held in India-we have best facilities,most people come to watch-stadiums always full,fine weather etc.

No it shouldn't & where were these tanks & guns when Ms Bhutto was murdered? How are they going to check tens of thousands of cricket fans individually entering the ground? It would take a staff of thousands to do it & don't even mention the time frame! As for the London bombing, I guess some of us have more faith in the English police. ICC will say anything BCCI tell them to, so don't bring that up as an argument. Face it, we're not going to Pakistan. Leave it be.

I really wish that it would be held in Pak coz PCB has made enough security arrangements for these high profile players...But then they are not ready to come!!:(

So,I guess the venue should be shifted coz if the teams like Aus,NZ,SA,England and WI pull out then this Champs Trophy is going to be another Asia Cup that's it!!

Btw,I completely agree with you when you say Aus vs Pom match continued even though there was bombing at that place then why shouldn't it continue in Pak...I completely agree with you on this point!!
