  1. The Red Sox will want more than any team will be willing to give up. Ramirez has pouted like this before and management will just let it fade out. The other could be a Dunn Deal, but AD is one of a few marketable players in Cincinnati....so, he may be staying.

  2. There are a few reasons why I don't make this deal if I'm the Dodgers GM. First, Ramirez's attitude is horrible. He plays hard only when he feels like it but besides that he's, to put it kindly, nuts.  Second, given all the good young talent on my club I worry about what kind of influence someone like Ramirez will have on the kids. The last thing I want is them learning his bad habits. Third, he'll be 37 years old next year but will expect a salary of $15-20MIL. Paying that kind of money for a one-dimensional player whose power numbers are clearly in decline makes no sense, as Detroit has learned with Gary Sheffield.

The Dodgers have some good young talent and should contend for years to come so it makes no sense to swap good talent for an overrated, overpaid veteran who'll probably play out the year then move on to a big payday.

  3. Neither deal will fly, this same c**p happens every year at the trading deadline and every year the idiot stays in Boston.

In 2005, he was supposed to go to the Mets until Lucchino stepped in a demanded a kings ransom, and he stayed in Boston.

....and by the way someone said the Red Sox would trade him for Shawn Green, Shawn Green isn't with the Mets anymore, he's retired (finally).

  4. Why would anyone want Juan Pierre thou? Hes grossly overpaid. Kemp maybe. Not Pierre

  5. They should just get Adam Dunn

  6. yes they should

  7. We don't want Adam Dunn for Manny. The Mets can have him For Shawn Green and Jose Reyes though.

  8. yes they should, but i doubt they will.

  9. no cuz they dont have the best arsnos in the league

  10. no

  11. They should try ecspecially w/ an unhealthy andrew jones but I promise you they wont get him. He is staying in Boston. I live out here in Rhode Island and am a Boston Sports fan. Trust me other than Boston media, the media is blowing this way out of proportion. Its actually getting pretty annoying b/c there not talking about it all on the local sports stations.

  12. They probably should but I know Joe Torre doesn't like Manny and I'd have to beleive the feelings mutual!

  13. Well the Reds have made it clear that if you want Adam Dunn, you better come with at least your number 2 prospect.

I mean unless Matt Kemp or Clayton Kershaw is included there is no way you're getting Adam Dunn. And even though Colletti is dumb enough to do it, I don't like the move. Plus if they did do it, why not trade for a Matt Holliday or Ramirez straight up because they're better. And if the Dodgers get Dunn, why on earth would the Red Sox trade Manny for him? Both are pending FAs so there is really no point.

  14. That's a stupid move because why would run the risk in trading a blossoming player like Matt Kemp, at 23 years old when you get a player at 36 with just 2 or 3 years left of playing baseball when Matt Kemp has 15 years?

As Charles Barkley would say: Now, that's a turible thing, that'd be crazy.

  15. Not going to happen. And your only kidding yourself if you think anyone would take Pierre and prospects for Dunn or Ramirez.

  16. dodgers could try but they probaly wont have a chance and manny might be traded and i dont think the reds are going to give up dunn for pierre and some cash.

  17. they should try but they wont end up getting him

  18. Is he really worth the trouble?  I think not.  He seems to be getting worse as the years go by.  Frankly he's uncontrollable and that would be a major distraction for the Dodgers.  As we can see it's already effected the Red Sox.

I think the Dodgers are on the right track with Torre at the helm.  Guys like Jeff Kent wouldn't put up with that kind of nonsense.  Look at what happened with Kent and Barry Bonds!

The Dodgers would just be asking for trouble.
