Should the Eagles and the Dockers merge? ?

This way they might be able to put together a competitive team.

I'm not a hater just concerned that neither team has many bright sparks for the future, except Palmer.

It looks as though both teams might be battling for the wooden spoon with Melbourne again next season.

gee, bit quick to write both of them off arent ya? but didnt freo make a preliminary final just a couple of years ago, also, didnt West Coast win a flag in 2006, so in short, no, no way should they merge, they just need some time to rebuild

aye, west coast  and  fremantle wont merge and dont need to! west coast have a prouder histroy and from the last 20 years they are one of the two most successful clubs in the afl (along with brisbane).

i dont want west coast to loose its amazing reputation by merging with fremantle (whom have won 0 premierships).

And fremantle do have a strong side to win games, they won about 6 this season which shows that they can play afl at a good level to beat other teams.

As does the eagles , they still won games this season which also outlines how they can play at a good afl level.

let the wa sides rebuild before u judge them.

Man, you are so witty.  So both the WA teams have a bad season at the same time, so they should be merged.  But you claim not to be a hater?

Then why not some sarcastic comment about the total dearth of talent at Melbourne?  Did you check the All Australian list?  Was there no "bright sparks" from either of the west coast teams in that despite a c**p season?  Of course there were.  Not many, but still there.

So what's your real reason for the dig?  Or is it just to have an easy pop when the mighty Eagles are down?

Considering the Eagles have won three premierships since the Hawks won their last one making them so much more successful as a club I think they should merge with a team from Tassie making the competition Australia wide.

If we are going to go on success in the finals to keep teams in the comp then those that haven't won for years will be trouble and most of them are from Victoria.
