  1. The EU must have a constitution to exist as an organization to govern its existence.

  2. the eu wounldn't be able to do anything if it tried

  3. They dont really need a constitution because they do have very specific requirements for membership (i.e the country has to be a democracy).  Also, you need to note that the EU is an economic union of sovereign states, and by adopting a constitution, they would be giving powers to a federal (or central) government, and the EU would soon become a federation like the US.  At the present time, that is not what most European states and citizens want.

  4. It's gone this far, so barring dismantling this monstrosity of a nation-eater, you better hope it does if you don't want to end up under a tyrant's boot.

p.s. Try getting your voice heard among the billions. Or for that matter, exerting any influence at all, I mean in the least little bit, on how such a "constitution" will be written. All Hail the Ruling Class.

  5. Yes a constitution or at least a constitution like document is needed.

Without going into endless detail, the situation is as follows.

The EU has become a huge political organisation and not only one for economics as many people still believe. The EU is like a tiger, with powerfull ideas and a modern structure fit for the 21 century BUT it has no fangs and a tiger without fangs, or in our case no constitution, is not able to act and awaken its full potential.
