Should the Jonas Brothers really be considered rock? :S?

Personally I don't like the jonas brothers, and it really annoys me how people call them rock :S Like no offecne but they have bubble gum lyrics and they dont even market the whole band just the three brothers... :S Also they only play about 3 chords in their songs. I don't consider this rock AT ALL. If other people have a different opinion please reply and tell me why, I'd really like to know. (not being sarcastic btw) Oh also! No post like "ZOMG YES THEY ARE AMAZING!!!11!!" If your gonna post please make a point in it kay? :) I want an acual discussion. Thankies ^^

  1. Well firstly many of the greatest rock bands of all time relied on three chord structures, like The Ramones.

    But no, it really isn't rock. It's a watered down bubble-gum pop (if that's even possible) that unfortunatly those with little knowledge and experience in true rock music (such as the lobotomized fanatics) have deemed it as cause their minds are incapable of logical thought.

  5. they are absolutely NOT rock.. not even microscopic rock... there's no rock about them... just because they carry guitars [yes, they only carry it... i doubt any of them can actually play it] doesn't make them rock... boybands were not considered rock and the jonas brothers are the complete epitome of a boyband.

    nickjonas goes through alot in his life, he could easily let the fame go to his head, and even overpower his parents, yet not only does he have really good moral values, but he also wears a purity ring, by choice.

    they could all be spoiled brats and treat everybody like c**p, but guess what, they dont.

    they are so down to earth, and dont really care if they are different.

    so no, the jonas brothers are not considered rock, but i dont see why you don't like them.

    but they are not really like hardcore rock

    they are pop/rock, its just a genre its no big deal

    you either like the music or you dont, it dosent matter if its pop or rock or hip hop or whatever..

  11. I agree, they're not rock, they're disney's version of rock. Which means their songs can not possile offend anyone...anywhere.

  16. I agree with you. Nothing about them is edgy enough to be considered rock. Just because you can "play" a guitar doesnt make you a rock band.  

  17. No they are pop that plays 'rock-like' tunes, but its mostly pop, its too structured musically to be rock.  If you want to call is pop rock.

  23. The Jonas Brothers wouldn't be called Rock, because first of all, they are from Disney. They would be called Pop and at most it would be called Pop-Rock, but definitelyNOT Rock. I personally do actually like the Jonas Brothers, they do get by a lot because of there good looks, but you can't blame them for that. But even if they do only play 3 chords in there song, their voices are still pretty good. And they do market the whole band, because the band IS just the 3 brothers.

  24. I aggree completely with u.....they are a boy band.....no boy bands are rock....Backsreet boys werent.....Nsync wasnt.....y should Jona Brother be rock?? For God's sake,they are a Disney boy band!!
