Should the "Association of the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Christ" be tarred and feathered for perpetuating the litigious society that we live in, or should they be held up as the moral standards of people speaking out against wrongs of the past?

  1. Didn't the Templars take a vow of poverty?

  2. A better question is: Why has the Church, after 700 years, never confessed its crimes against the Templars or offered restitution?  A true Christian does not wait for the lawyers to show up, to do what is right.

  3. I think the lawsuit is symbolic - like much of the Templar information and tradition.  When they win (which is nearly assured), there will be no real way to prove a dollar amount - so the Church will have to pay zero... BUT will have to apologize to them, which is what they want in the first place.
