Question:

Should the Medical Speciality Aptitude Test be in stone?

So I took this test: http://www.med-ed.virginia.edu/specialties/ to see how my specialties would rank. I'm still only a pre-med student about to start my second undergrad year but I was curious to see how my interests would line up.

Ironically, pediatrics was my #1 and I don't even really like dealing with that age group! This test isn't the know-all, ultimate decision is it? I haven't even gotten into med school yet to go through my clerkships, so I think my interests could change.

  1. No, its a stupid test. The questions are repetitive and vague at times. Do what you are interested in, just because you have a long attention span doesn't mean you are automatically qualified to be a surgeon, etc.
