Should the NBA Champs Celtics be called World Champs anymore?

The rest of the world has caught up to the Americans, some of the best players in the NBA aren't made in USA (Nowitsky MVP, Parker Finals MVP, Ginobli 6th man, Turkoglu Most Improved)

Without forgetting that the US haven't won Gold in 8 years, not only the lost but they got spanked and I am not even sure this team current team is gonna bring home the gold. I think they should have a club tournament of all the best teams in the world (maybe the Champ of each continent) to determine who is truly the best.

As I recalled,  some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq and everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future.

I don't think they ever should have been called World Champs. The Celtics did not play every other team in the world and win. They played every other team in the NBA and won. So they are the NBA Champs not the World Champs.

NO! Even if they could beat any other national team or EuroLeague team or whatever else, they haven't done so. To be the world champions, a team would have to win a worldwide league. The Boston Celtics can be called the NBA champions and some could argue that they are the best team in the world, but they have not beaten world teams.

There are two ways they, or any other team, could become world champions (and I can't see either one ever even becoming possible but whatever):

1. They could compete in either the world championships or the olympics and take gold.

2. The NBA and EuroLeague and any other major league in the world could decide to merge and they could win the championship in that merged league.

Yes they should.  You can move those guys back to their country and create a team to compete in the NBA.  They would not stand a chance in a 7 games series.

Players from Team USA just doesn't take international competition seriously.  

You won't see any player crying after loosing in the Olympics as you would see Peter Pan cried after the lost to the Celtics.

I understand everything u are saying but think about it.....The players u just named...Parker, Nowintski, Ginolbli,Turkolu...ext...Where do they play during the regular season???The National Basketball Association located where?? The USA.......So my point is anyone with any type of geat basketball skill on this planet brings it here to the NBA...So yes the winner of the NBA Championship should be called World Champs.

We only lost the gold 1 time over the last 8 years. The Olympics only come every 4 years so we only lost 1 gold medal....Have u been looking at the games?? We have the greatest players on earth.....These guys besides Argentina only have 1 star and thats not gonna cut it against us
