  1. Old school is great.  I play in a country lugby league comp and it has largly been left alone.  Biff, barg and drink a ot of pi#s after the game!

The game has gone away from its roots.  Half of the people running the game have probably never actually played themselves!

  2. Technology can help and hinder the game.

I could do without Winfield Cup, as I hate smoking.  Tooheys is awful beer.

I would love to see the game harder.  I don't want it dirty ala Les Boyd on Daryl Brohman.  But I want to see hard players of the past, Sirro, Les Davidson, Dean Pay etc.

Eliminate the video ref.  Get people talking and debating about games.

The game is played and refereed by human beings who can and will make mistakes.  Why rely on technology.  That takes away the excitement

  3. h**l yer and while were at it bring back scrums, biffs, beers and the game of rugby league in genral

  4. Lol Tina Turner needs to come back I remember growing up watching her every Friday night lol but nah the vid. ref needs to stay now.. with the new talent and tricks and deliberate miracles, along with the rule benders I think it needs to be there to fair out the game.. but the video ref shouldnt be used as much like to stop the whole game for 2 minutes just to watch a replay that happened 5 minutes before than.. Theres pro's and cons for the video but still reckon its good

  5. If you want the old school game that much, perhaps you should build yourself a time machine. Although I agree the vidoe ref has too much influence on the modern game, it should just be used in tryscoring situations and not strip situations.

In the politically correct world of the 21st century, it would not be possible to permit high tackles although there is not enough biff in the game.

    Tina Turner is a has-been.

  6. Nice to speculate on but think of all the d1ckheads who would be up in arms about brutality & role models etc.

  7. no,we will see more and more of video ref, gridiron, there is to much at stake with people betting teams being privitised it all comes down to $$$$

  8. yes

  9. Bring back the rules that allow the ball to be competed for, scrums, play the ball, the tackle. Video ref for tries only.

As the old Peter Allen song goes "Everything old is new again". Bring back unlimited tackle football.

    Thus speaketh the dinosaur.

  10. There were rules in the 80's?

  11. those were the days! eye gouging in scrums, then come up swinging! the glory days for parramatta, burning down cumberland oval! h**l im all for it!

  12. video ref works...the problem is not the video ref..its the lack of it in general play. appalling forward passes and offsides go on week after week resulting in tries to teams who dont deserve them...go all out or go back to the raffle conditions of the 80's!

problem is the games about twice the pace and power of the 80's....but REAL scrums, fights, tooheys and tina turner sound ok to me!
