Apple has attacked the consumer world with its Computers(Macs), Media Players(iPods), Software(OSX, iTunes, ect.), and now the Phone market(iPhone).

Dose it have to power to attack the PSP and the DS Lite?

Is this Apple's next move?

  1. While Apple has had some major success of late, video games are a unique facet of the electronics industry.  I believe that Apple has the capacity and the creativity to create something that would be a competitive option for gamers.  However, I feel that in the gaming industry brand loyalty is huge and if you have two new handheld systems that come out with even relatively similar features the older, better known brands (like Nintendo and Sony) will still win out.

  2. The iPhone and the iPod Touch will take over the PSP and DS once the firmware 2.0 comes out that allows games.

Bioshock and Spore are already being ported to the devices. Quake 3 has been shown to run with decent fps as well.

No way the PSP and DS can touch on that (but they do have buttons =/).

I actually think Microsoft should be scared. Vista was a flop (when compared with Leopard or even Tiger). And their new Windows 7 isn't impressive either. Zune is pretty much gonna die...as soon as Apple cuts all the iPods $50, then the Zune will pretty much be out.

  3. No way Apple have no experience with video game systems

  4. I hope not, there's really no where to turn for them. PSP is already multi-media and DS has touchscreen.
