Question:

Should the Phillies be winning the NL East right now???

I'm thinking they should because Billy Wagner is out for the Mets, and the Marlins have really taken a bad fall for the worst, but the Phillies are in 2nd place. They should be owning that division, shouldn't they???

  1. Yes, the Mets bullpen hasn't been performing well, but their offense and starting rotation have been firing on all cylinders. Meanwhile, the Phillies rotation is weak, and their offense has gone into a collective slump. Yes, if they all start hitting again, they'll start winning more than they are now. But the fact remains that they do not have a rotation that can win a division, unless the Mets hand it to them again.  


  2. Based on what?   Their pitching is iffy and they're offensive output is inconsistant.  You cant win by being one-dimensional.   But being a Philly phan, I wish they would take ownership and beat the teams they should beat( like the Dodgers..lol Redman)

  3. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. If Phillies were better than the Mets they would be but they aren't better than the Mets & that's probably why they are in second place

  4. Should they? Yes. Are they? No. The thing with this team is they can't seem to get the offense going. To much of swinging at first pitches and swinging at pitches that would be ball 4. Every time you see a little spark of them maybe coming out of this slump that they have been in for what seems like an eternity, they fall right back into it. A loss to the Nats is unacceptable in my book, we should have swept them, we won the series and that's great, but last night's game was a disgrace. I hope they can turn things around and start hitting because they are letting this slip right through their fingers.

No not at all. the phillies made it to the playoffs last year ONLY because the mets collapsed..  other than that they are not even a playoff team.. they have a ton of hr's but look how small their ball park is.. its either a strikeout or a homer with Howard.. their only good players in my opinion are shane vitorino and chase utley... Mets are so much more stacked and unless they choke again phillies dont have a chance at winning the division.... mets against the phillies this year 10-4 and have not lost a series to them .. phillies suck

  11. Not really...the mets have won 15 out of the last 17 games...the phillies have a great team but they just dont put winning streaks together...and thats gonna be the key to winning the division

  14. no, because jamie moyer and cole hamels are there only good pitchers, hamels gets no run support, and their offense has been completely shut down for the past month, theyve been playing like a 500 team since the all star break
