Should the Phillies make the trade for Holliday?

im a phillies fan and i am so angry of how the lack of offense showed. adding holliday will be a boost 4 them. they should make dis trade and not be worried about the future of their prospects. but wut do u think?

I don't think so if you look at the NL West, the Rockies surprisingly are actually still in it, and i say this with the thoughts from last year still in mind, remember they had a huge comeback last year too, plus that NL West is very unpredictable...  So the Rockies don't want to deal away pretty much all of their offense like that, they won't trade him this year unless they really slump before the Trade Deadline.  Don't worry about a lack of offense it happens to every team...

Holliday Would have played center, because they would have traded Victorino

But it would be so-so

They would loose prospects, but have the best lineup in the leauge

The Phillies have a chance to contend now, so they should look into making a move.

They at least attempted to fix the pitching by adding Blanton, but Holliday would certainly help. He would be an upgrade over Werth and Jenkins when he comes back. Holliday could also replace Burrell if he doesn't re-sign. Since the Phillies are a contender, unloading the farm system wouldn't be a big issue. Especially since the core of that team is signed for a long time: Utley, Rollins, Howard. Assuming Holliday signed an extension, that would be a great lineup for years to come.

Well, Burrell is already their left fielder. So if they trade for Holliday, Burrell has to go.

I think alot of the Phillies struggles has to do with Charlie Manuel he's no good he's just manager of good team i wish they'd send his fat a.s.s packing already...Yes i think we need to trade for Holliday because we need another bat because the only guys hitting ball good our Ryan Howard,Pat Burrell, and Chase Utley but Chase has been in and out of a slump for since his hot start...It's time to win now who cares if we have to give up more prospect...And for those saying Pat would have to go,not he wouldn't Holliday would just take over RF.

the phillies should worry more about pitching then their batting. they already have one of the best lineups in baseball, they just aren't performing that well lately. plus holliday isn't going anywhere.

No because the rockies will say no unless the give them a big name pitcher like hamels or Lidge.Or a lot of Minor leauge stars.

What do you mean lack of offense? They are 2nd in the league in homers with over 130 homers. They need pitching.

h**l NO! Pat Burrell shouldn't go! Im a yankee fan and i like when Burrell kicks the mets butts! But, If they do, they gotta send Burrell, Shane Victorino, and a prospect.

Sorry, Rockies fan. :)  I know he'll be gone eventually but I'm pretending it won't happen.

Anyhoo. Rockies ARE still in the race in the NL West. They woldn't be except the Dodgers and Dbacks haven't been that much better. Rox are still contenders. They won't be trading for anything less than an awesome pitcher who could provide the consistancy of Cookie or better and a reliable outfielder, esp since Spilborghs is on the DL. In short, they won't trade Holliday unless it can make the team better than Holliday does. That means, they'd need an ML ready outfielder equal to Holliday and a pitcher to enhance our current rotation. If a team can offer that, we may see Holliday go. If not, they'll keep hm for his offense, esp since he's signed through next year.
