Should the Portland Trail Blazers try to trade for Allen Iverson?

With the Denver Nuggets rumored to be wanting to trade Iverson. I believe that the Blazers should try to make a trade happen. The Blazers are a good young team, doing real good. To put them above as an elite team they need a veterain to lead and you cant do much better then a guy that avg. 27 points and 7 assists a game. Match him up with Brandon Roy, Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge. I see a team that can do real damage. In return the Nuggets can get younger and free up salary space. They can choose from plenty of young players

The trailblazers would definitely not trade for A.I considering he's aging (even though he can score). They want Roy, Aldridge and Oden to compose the core and having A.I in will stop the ball movement while possibly hurt the team chemistry. Plus with A.I's salary the team would not be able to keep their core group for long. It would be benficial for the Nuggets who seriously look to free cap space and would add some future prospects. This would not happen in Portland though. Especially since Roy is a scoring ballhandler, like A.I. (but a few levels below). A.I himself would not want to go to this team and therefore it would not work.

A I would be a great addition, but finding someone of close to equal value to trade would be challenging. Who on the T-Blazers would you accept if you were Denver, other than Greg Oden or Brandon Roy?

It's a nice idea, but since the Blazers are building for the future, I don't see them giving up anyone good enough to bring them Iverson.

Allen iverson has alot of speed so if portland has some players that are really big it should help their club. they need someone to make the playoffs.

i think you're right. iverson wasn't happy in denver anyway so this would work out for both teams. if this does go through i think you will see portland finish in the top three in the west and make it far in the playoffs.
