  1. I believe McCain said something to the fact!!!

  2. No. W said he can't come to the convention because he will be working in Louisiana, W not showing up is the best thing that could happen to MCcain this week

  3. yes

  4. No, postponing the convention won't stop the hurricane from hitting. All we should do is let New Orleans and Louisianna do the immediate and necessary preperations then be ready to give them any help and relief that they need.

  5. Yes.

  6. McCain doesn't want to miss out on the photo ops.  And the GOP is afraid if they are busy at the convention and the DEMS are providing assistance at the site of the hurricane, it will look bad.  This is all for appearance and nothing more.

  7. It probably will; they have already cut a lot from it.   They will have the voting for McCain/Palin.   Unlike the DNC, the RNC doesn't have to have a big celebrity party to announce their candidate.

  8. LOL. It should. God is definitely angry with republicans.

  9. It should be skipped right over frankly.

But they will LIKELY carry on with it...that way with ZERO turnout...they can blame it on GUSTAV.

  10. No, it is an excuse for President Bush and VP Cheney not to attend.

They were not really wanted there anyway, now it can be explained.

  11. I beg to differ with this comment: McCain will make the right choice. He has ALWAYS put America before politics. You might not agree with his politics, but you cannot deny that!

Do you REALLY think Palin would be on the ticket if Hillary had won? He!!2theno! So what you have with a Republican victory and a McCain croak is a "hockey mom" who 2 WEEKS ago DIDN'T know what the job description of V/P was.

Under those conditions; I'd rather have Bush!

  12. Why?  The hurricane may hit Louisiana/New Orleans.  The convention is in Minneapolis and it will create more wind.

Hurricane Katrina did not stop W from sharing birthday cake with McSame, why should this hurricane stop the repubs from their convention.  It's not like they care.

  13. Depends on what the situation is AFTER Gustav hits

  14. The Reps will lose anyway. They do not need a convention. Even Nature is against them, lol....Their policies are out of Nature and out of context...

  15. Is everyone in St. Paul supposed to go to Louisiana?  Even if the convention is canceled, those people are still there.  They evacuated New Orleans already.  No one is there.

Everyone calling for cancellation needs to get a sense of proportion.  Commerce goes on. Life goes on.  The mood should change, the duration may change, but the convention should not be canceled.  It's foolish to even propose logistically.

Should they go into New Orleans DURING the hurricane?

  16. It should

  17. I think maybe it should be postponed but there's already been tons of money poured into the preparations and postponing something as big as this is not easy. I think it would be great if McCain decided to use it as a telethon to raise money for either NOLA victims or maybe the forgotten victims of the Midwest floods.

  18. They should relocate it to the Superdome in New Orleans.

  19. NOT EVEN  GOD WANT TO SEE THE REPUBLICANS CONVENTION . YES THEY SHOULD

  20. They don't want to look like they are enjoying the Hurricane as they did With the last one.  Just politics to the GOP.

  21. Nope....let everything run as scheduled.
