Should the Ryder Cup be implemented into a world wide affair?

The Ryder Cup is a very exciting time for golf fans, and it has been a American tradition, but with the European team's recent domination in Ryder Cup competition, except for the 1999 miracle, should the the Ryder Cup get reformatted to a wider base especially with so many international players in the top 10 in the world and presence on the PGA Tour.

For example, North America and South America vs Rest of World(Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa)

Thoughts

It would bring even more excitement to the Ryder Cup. I know that there is the President's Cup but it doesn't bring the excitement like the Ryder Cup, thus, it would bring more of the exciting players into the mix.

  1. I think it is a good idea.

The more player the more interesting competition.

  2. that will never happen...the American's think they're the best in the world...so they wouldnt want to team up with anyone else cause they think  they're better then everyone else.

Another whipping at this year's Ryder cup...and maybe people will start to realize that America isn't breeding the best players in the world anymore...

  3. I don't adhere to the premise that if the Americans don't compete well that we should change the format.  There is just not a lot of match play played by any tour members......The Europeans seem to be better at it any more....that does not mean that the event should be opened up....only that the Americans need to play better.

  4. Wasn't the President's cup introduced to cover golfers from countries other than the European Union ? If the players in the President's Cup are boring how would the incorporation of those players into the Ryder format be less boring?  Your statement is not logical.
