It doesn't seem right what's going on over there, but nobody is doing anything about it either.

  1. The UN has one goal and that is to suck up as many US dollars as possible. The failures of the UN far outnumber any good it has done over the years and it appears we will witness another Russian take down of a democratic country that had the balls to help us in Iraq. Naturally the nut cases in Washington are quivering in their boots instead of returning to congress and speaking out about things. It is sad the world continues to ignore abuses like those going on by Russia in Georgia.

  2. No.  It is a matter between Russia and Georgia to solve between themselves.

  3. U.N and N.A.T.O are scared of Russia.

  4. And, what, exactly, are they supposed to do? The USA has its hands full with it's last two attempts to "do something" and is in no position to get involved in a third even more expensive war. Europe doesn't have the force projection military to do anything, and even if they did, they need Russian oil and gas more than Russia needs them. Both the USA and Europe have no one but themselves to blame for their being helpless in this situation, the Russians are simply taking advantage of what George Bush's sophomoric foreign policy has created, a world where the USA is helpless in the face of Russia or Chinese adventurism.

And has been mentioned, the western puppet that the USA armed and encouraged in Georgia was monumentally stupid by ordering his troops to storm Tskhinvali, would you be inclined to rush in to help a friend who picked a fight with a gang of h**l's Angels? The Georgian people are paying for Saakashvili's arrogance and folly, the west can only hope that once Putin has made his point, he will be happy with Abkhazia and Ossetia.

  5. UN is already protecting ossetian people with russian peacekeapers

  6. The UN can't do anything about it.  Russia can veto anything that even mentions it's aggression against Georgia.

NATO probably won't do anything about it, there isn't the political will to do much.  And Europe is at the mercy of Russia cutting off it's oil supply.

Should.. yes both should be actively taking steps to get the Russians to stop.  It's a disgrace that it isn't being done.

  7. Most certainly not should the U.N. or NATO rush to Georgia's aid.

The Media spin we are receiving outside of Russia doesn't mention how Georgia is the safe haven of Chechnya terrorists, does it?

It doesn't mention the Ethnic Cleansing going on in the area, does it?

It doesn't mention the years and piles of direct insults from Georgia directed at Russia, does it?

This isn't some fruity little war about existent WMDs in a country thousands of miles away from any border held by Russia. This is a war about an unstable neighbor not keeping their mess contained.

Picture it like this, Al Queda operates out of Mexico, and suicide-bombs Houston, Texas. The Government of Mexico spits out some fluff words, but does nothing to actually curb the  terrorist operations in their nation. Then, Mexico goes and starts oppressing the people in the Baja peninsula because they share a small difference in ethnicity and want to become an independant nation, and the US invades to protect the people there, as well as improve stability in the regoon. Do you honestly think that the UN or RSS or OAS should rush to the aid of Mexico?

Georgia isn't even a member of NATO (Thank Goodness) and if we were smart, we'd stop the Cold War Bull c**p we have been perpetuating and leave Russia to deal with Georgia, rather then court the piece of c**p country that harbors terrorists into an organization that would give them a global status. Let Georgia burn, and a government not so friendly to terrorists replace it!

  8. Let the UN handle it. After they handle Darfur.

  9. The UN cannot do anything in Darfur against a rag tag bunch of ill trained

but lethal boys. NATO was impotent during the Kosovo genocide.

So do you think they can take on a Russia that uses tanks against civilians?

    Best to watch the Olympics.

  10. Georgia is not a nato country.

  11. the un and nato are useless. if georgia is waiting for either of them to help, they're in deep dodo.

  12. Don't be fooled by the Western spin on this story - neither Georgia nor Russia is innocent here.   The only real innocents are the ethnic Ossetians who would be ethnically cleansed by Georgian troops if it were not for Russian intervention.  In fact, Russia is doing exactly what NATO did in Kosovo, protecting an ethnic minority in a breakaway region, so it's rather hypocritical for NATO to denounce what Russia is doing.

  13. Georgia picked the fight. President must be thick.

  14. all i can say the russian counter offensive must stop

but the georgians dont deserve military help as they are the ones who started the atrocities and the war.

  15. yes,  the USA extended a NATO invitation, I think the USA should grab the sack and go into Moscow,  **** it,  whats the worse that can happen?  LMAO
