Should the U.S Government?

Question

Should the U.S Government mandate compulsory two- year minimal civil and/or military service for all able-bodied citizens at the age of eighteen?

Many nations of the world require such mandatroy service of their young people. Why? Why not?

we are not like any other country and that should not be a mandate because we should not force young Americans to do something that they don't want because if you think about the draft it is something like that in the sense of mandatory and it is a better system that way because it can always be there in Case of an emergency.

As freedoms become limited, you may see this happen.  Since we're still the land of the free (with some exceptions) we should still have the choice to serve.
