should the U.S. take account of the fact that some other global powers might emerge and/or overtake them and is, therefore, helpful to have rules and institutions to harness them? Isn't a discussion at the Security Council better than deploying warheads in each other face?

couldn't the UN be made more efficient and less costly?

the U.S. was removed off the human rights committee, but countries like Syria and China are on the committee, no we should stop funding the U.N., and tell them to get their offices out of New York,.....let them go to some other country,.....i like what Pat Buchanan said,.....if i am elected President, i will let the U.N. know they have 90 days, to get out of the U.S., if they are not gone, he would bring in a platoon of Marines to remove them,.....though he might have needed a division, to do that,.....

Absolutely not.  The UN does NOT represent the interests of the United States OR it's citizens, and 90% of the member nations are hostile to the U. S. and vote against any measures that concern our national security.

If we were to trust our sovereignty and security to the UN Security Council, we might as well haul down our flag and raise the UN Flag.

We should get OUT of the UN, and get the UN OUT of the U.S.

I live in NYC and when the UN Building was gong up, I said to my wife: "Someday this is going to make a great Apartment Complex."  When she asked why ? " Because the UN is never going to work, and we are going to shove hard earned Tax Payers money to support a bunch of disinterested Representatives who are here for the Tax Free income; For those Diplomatic Plates so that you can park where you like; and for Diplomatic Immunity. The League of Nations didn't work, and this one will not work either". I wish she was still alive to see how the UN has become the "Funny House:. and a model for Geo Political Impotence.
