Dafur, Sudan, Iraq, Georgia, anywhere else...

I know we entered Iraq for different reasons. However, do you think the USA has a moral responsiblity to defend people who are unable to stop their government from killing civilians and being unjust? Before you just answer from the hip consider this:

If our government turned dictatorship and started killing off civilians and doing as they please, wouldn't you want someone to come in and rescue us from the attrocities?

  1. But for clarifiation, what do you mean by "help out"?  Are you talking about sanctions, economic and humanitarian aid, global political pressure, etc?  Or are you talking about dropping 100,000 troops into the middle of something with no plan?

  2. We already do , Next time there is a natural disaster on Tv watch we send ships full of supplies.

  3. The same people who have some problem with the US and love to spread hatred about the USA? I say no, let them help themselves.

I'm sorry but America has done some good deeds and yet they bite the hand that feeds them.

    Edit* Sorry man here...

Somalia is in Africa is it not? Why do you think the CIA is helping warlords there to fight Muslim extremist who have taken control of the country?- http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...

You can find a lot of information on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Americ...

The only ones we should help now are our allies and some of them don't deserve our help! Pakistan is a good example of someone who is leading us along.

  4. yes u.s should do that but cant .

  5. No not at all I live over the pond from time to time These people deserve something but it's not our help

It is a complete waste of time and money ie the U K Many years back their P M {Mr Churchill} said what we did for them ''was the most generous act of any nation in history'' Today it's ''you were late coming to our air and came in only when you know we would win and you made money off us'' Waste of time to help or even try to be friends with them

  6. Well they do try, aid is generally offered to victims of a foriegn disaster, usually natural. And they did say they invaded Iraq with the intention of freeing it from tyranny, which to be fair, it has done. But yeah I don't know, why they aren't doing what they did to Iraq to what they did to Zimbabwe. Maybe after all this time, they have realised that war is financially expensive, and don't want to risk another 'quick war' that slogs on for years and years, draining their money.

I mean they invaded Iraq with the intention of it being easy, because the military was so weak. It did the same with Viatnam. And despite America's huge military, some things can't be solved quickly by war. Plus if the disaster is happening in a country with an allience, or a precence of another huge military power, such as Russia or China, then once again they will be indecicive to act, and simply aid the victim country and just condemn and critisise the attacker.

  7. The citizens of each country must make their own stand. If they want democracy and are willing to fight for it, then I think we should respond to pleas for help, if conditions are right, and that is political and not our area of expertise(I mean you and I). We as a nation cannot interfere in another countries internal affairs even if it hurts to see so many die at the hands of their government. That is why we are fussing with the russians now, they went into a sovereign country and took territory that was not theirs to take.Nor was there any reason to say that Georgia threatened Russia's territory.

  8. no we should cut our Military down and start spending tax money of infrastructure instead of making billion dollar weapons

  9. Last time i checked we do that already. Our first priority should be our national security and our national interests. Everything else is questionable.

  10. We should just spend that money here at home on fat lazy Americans who deserve it.

Then we can watch on TV as brutal dictators slaughter the helpless in those "other" countries.

Maybe we could rent "The Killing Fields" and watch it all together (Jane Fonda is proud of herself for that one) so we know what to expect while we ignore the world's problems.

BTW -- If you really believe the non-sense about how we cause all the problems - Just remember how we ignored the German's and Japanese in WWII as they took over country after country -- that strategy worked  . . .right?
