Question:

Should the USA be helping Georgia?

I read in the newspaper that the U.S. was giving $1 billion to aid Georgia, but Russia told the U.S. to stay out of their business. I think we're going to force our help on Georgia just to prove that we're so much better and we have so much money to give out in aid, and then that's going to start another war with Russia. We are so stupid. Don't you agree?

  1. Well,

It's a question of saving face now.  See, before all this recent stuff happened over there the US made kind of a big show about telling the Georgian people how we were behind them 100%, etc.

But then when it hit the fan and Russia started moving in, the US acted all confused and kind of went "Georgia who?"

Which is kind of sad.  The Bush adminstration talks a good game, but when it comes down to it they won't fight with the really big bullies on the block.

Anyway, now we have to give Georgia some $ so they'll hush and not get the bully Russia any madder.  And we've also sent high-level diplomats (who knew we even had diplomats anymore!!!) over there to play kiss and make up.  And I imagine all the while we're also sending diplomats to tell Russia that they're our real BFF and we won't do anything to cause them any more trouble.

  2. ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Tell me where in the Constitution, it grants the government the authority to use public funds for other countries, no, they are to use it for the common good of this country and this country alone.

  3. people complain that we don't help countries out enough...then they complain when we do help out...so i do agree we should help out Georgia...

  4. Georgia were the aggressors in this case, Russia was just being proud, as always.

  5. I believe you foreign affairs experience is about as much as Obamas, zero. While I am at it, the republic of Georgia doesn't want Russian and it is not Russia's claim wither, remember they died back in the 80's, you were probably to young or not even born yet. There is no Russia, it is gone. Therefore they have no claim, Georgia is an independent republic of free people. WE are their friends and we help our friends, If we were great friends we would be arms deep up the big red bears azzz. But the liberal bed wetters in our country would pitch a fit. So we let them have their way, and hope one day they will breed out of existence.

EDIT: CHA CHA YOU A MORON>>>>>I hope you are kidding.

  6. Yea, providing federal aid to one of our states is common practice.  Of course, it is always important to protect states' rights, but federal aid is needed in things such as interstate roads, possible natural disasters, etc.  Some people call Georgia the armpit of the United States, but it's no reason to deprive them of federal aid.

  7. Russia has no standing whatsoever to tell someone else to mind their own business.  Georgia is none of Russia's business.  We're certainly not forcing aid on Georgia, they would gladly accept more if we gave it.  I hope they spend it on weapons.

  8. Yes, although we should perhaps limit the amount of funding to foreign countries that are not strong allies, but indeed as human beings we should not forget those less fortunate or in need.

  9. Should the USA be helping Georgia?!  Yeah, Atlanta, Georgia. It is hard to argue with a President who deployed more than 125,000 troops in Iraq to eliminate weapons of mass destruction, only to find out the next door over it is IRAN, who have weapons of mass destruction. IRAQ, IRAN....GEORGIA, ATLANTA, GEORGIA.  It's complicated.

  10. No. We gave them a ton of aid already, and it all went down the drain when the Georgian regime decided to attack the Russians in South Ossetia. As a taxpayer, I don't think we should subsidize stupidity in foreign governments.
