  1. personally i think we should take care of our own problems before we try to fix the rest of the world

  2. What does one have to do with the other?  The issues regarding health insurance are complex and involve much more than finding funds to pay for coverage for those that do not have it.  The first step would be looking into the reason for the skyrocketing health insurance rates and there are many.  We have an aging population needing more healthcare, a growing unhealthy, unfit population needing healthcare because they make poor lifestyle choices and a desire to have the latest and greatest technology and medications.  All of that combined with the continued increases in fraud, cost of labor and cost of malpractice insurance has created an expensive system requiring ever increasing premiums to keep up with it.  Find a way to better manage some of that (which some of it cannot be fixed) to bring costs down and it wouldn't cost so much to pay for insurance.

  3. No, that's silly.  I do NOT want 75% income taxes, so the "government" can pay health insurance premiums for everyone.  AND, some people here flat out don't want to be insured!!

I really, really resent the whole "entitlement" attitude - health insurance is NOT a right.  It isn't!!  Yes, I want people to be covered, but I ALSO want people to not use credit cards!!  Dream on MB!!  Because people who are stupid about money one way, will be stupid about money multiple ways.  Including insurance, and health insurance.  That 52 inch tv sitting on the wall is more important than something they think they'll never use - health insurance.
