Yeah big time. Stephen Jackson was the one who helped the Warriors go to the playoffs. He was the one who guarded Dirk Nowitzski in the 2007 playoffs round 1 and made him shoot crappy. To me, Stephen Jackson deserves the contract more than Turiaf and Maggette combine. He lead one of the worst teams in the NBA to a top 18 team. If anyone dersevres a big contract, it's Captain Jack. Although he is old, it seems like age is not affecting his playing and he's not injury prone either like Baron Davis so the Warriors better re-sign him to a 4 or 3 year deal for $10,000,000 each year.

He's our best defender and usually takes the opponent's best non-big men player.  Signing S-Jax is a must but I'm no sure what kind of role he will have after 2 seasons when Randolph and Wright comes into their own.  What would happen if Marcus Williams develops into a solid distributor and a dependable point guard?  Would it be Maggette or Jackson who gets moved to the bench?  So many questions and very few certainties.

I think Chris Mullin will get himself into a big trouble in Bay Area if he is generous enough to offer 10 million a year to Corey Maggette but being mean to pay for Stephen Jackson's service.

One should credit how Jackson contributes to Warriors, and when an emotional disorder transforms into an emotional leader, you just get the best out of him.

Anyway, this is a good example for those college-bypassing players.

i would first see what he is going to do this year and if he does somewhat close to what he did last year then i would give him a new contract. He is a good Warrior and deserves it.
